Calf

A calf is a term for a young bovine, which is an animal of the cattle family. This term is also used for the young of other large mammals, such as elephants, whales, and giraffes. 🐄

Physical Characteristics

Calves are born with a soft, fuzzy coat and a small, slender body. Within minutes of being born, a calf is able to stand and walk. They have a small, rounded head and a short tail.

Behavior and Diet

Calves are highly dependent on their mother for milk and protection for the first several months of their life. They are known for their playful and curious nature, and they spend their time exploring their surroundings and playing with other calves. As they grow, they begin to eat solid food, such as grass and hay.
